SEO Case Study- Ranking 200+ Keywords within 120 Days

Case Study
Recently, the Dotmirror team has ranked a website for a client for more than 100 keywords. Here is the success story below.

The website was based on toys for children. The niche is very competitive as a lot of big fish are there. So, the website was not even on the first page of Google. For specific reasons, we can’t expose the name of the site.  The client approached us with the site in the first part of May. She wanted us to rank the site for a few keywords within 3-4 months so that she could generate a moderate sale. But the keywords were too competitive that it was almost impossible for a new site to rank such fast in those keywords.  Competitors     It was a new site with around 30-35 articles. Most of those were focused on highly competitive keywords. So, it was a challenging situation for us.  We approached her and discussed the situation. We proposed that she should rank the site for low competitive keywords that would generate sales. She could understand the situation and asked us to approach as we wanted. She was just looking to generate sales.  Our team started working on it.

Our Process

We followed the generic SEO process to rank the website.

SEO Audit

First, we focused on the current condition of the SEO of the website. For this, we conducted an SEO audit. From this, we found some significant issues in the technical and on-page SEO. All the problems were marked and kept aside to work with those later.  SEO Audit

Competitor Analysis

We checked the competitors based on the primary keywords she focused on. We’ve already said that we found some big fish in the search results that were fighting in the first two pages. Those are the sites with high DA and PA. So, we had to build authority before fighting those sites.  That’s why we decided to leave the keywords for this time and work on new keywords.  Competitors

Keyword Research

We appointed our keyword research specialists to find some low-competitive yet highly valued keywords for her site. Instead of money keywords, we were focused on informative keywords. We found around 10-12 keywords where we had the possibility to rank. The search volume of the keywords was moderate. keyowrds We decided to move forward with those.

Content Creation

After getting the keywords, we asked our content writers to create some excellent articles based on the keywords. The focus of the articles was purely on helping people with the answers they were looking for and taking them to the place they wanted.  Also, the articles were written with the most up-to-date information that some competitors lacked. We found this gap while manually researching the competitors. While working to rank better, you shouldn’t miss these gaps.

On-page SEO

When our writers were busy writing awesome articles for the site, we started working with its current articles. We found some significant gaps in the on-page SEO. The meta descriptions and meta titles were fixed at first. Then, our experts focused on optimizing the keywords of the existing articles.  On Page SEO Finally, the titles were fixed a bit.

Technical SEO

Then we started working on the technical parts of the site. Just like most websites we’ve worked with, the speed was not satisfactory. So, we focused on increasing the speed. We had to work a lot on it. But the hard work paid off. Technical We also changed some URLs, cleaned errors, and improved the site structure.  In the meantime, we were publishing articles continuously focusing on on-page optimization. Also, we were looking for a few more keywords suitable for ranking. This time, we prioritized money keywords.

Backlink Building

After clearing the technical issues, we focused on building some high-quality backlinks from sites with high DA. Our focus was to drive visitors from those sites as well as increase authority. That’s why we tried to build links from relevant websites where visitors are looking for a solution and can easily be driven to our website.  Backlinks Our experts got some opportunities and built a few links from quality websites.  With this, the keyword research and content generation process were continued. Overall, we found around 25 keywords and published 22 articles within the whole runtime of the project. While publishing the articles, we focused on internal linking.

What Happened after this Process?

In this part, our focus was to generate more visitors to the site with the help of new keywords. That’s why we focused on finding out new potential keywords and developing content based on those.  In the first month, we published around 5-6 articles and saw an increase in the number of visitors as two keywords instantly came in the first page. The website was ranked on the first page for around 20-21 keywords in the second month. Six of those were picked by us. The rest were automatic. We published about ten articles this month.  We published the rest of the articles in the third month and found that the site ranked on the first page for around 90 keywords. It was ranked in the #1 position for 25 different keywords as the third month ended.  After the fourth month, 204 different keywords were showing the website on the first page of the search results. Among those, it was placed at the top for more than 50 keywords.  Our client started getting sales in the second month. In the fourth month, the number of orders was almost thrice compared to the number in the second month.  This is the story of ranking a website for 200+ keywords within 120 days and helping our client to generate and increase sales.  organic traffics

What’s Our Plan Now?

Right now, after a discussion with our client, we are trying to increase the authority of the website and compete with the big fishes for competition keywords. This is going to be a long journey, we know. But she has found the fun in SEO and is interested in spending more on it.  For this, we’ve already planned something. We’re currently checking the big fish in the competition and looking for the gaps they have. After researching the major competitors, we’ll work on their gaps and try to beat them in the competition.

Final Verdict

The journey was a bit long but not that complex. Our client wanted to generate some sales from the website. So, we focused on finding the untouched keywords and worked with those to rank faster.  This has helped us to deliver exactly what our client wanted. We’re working hard for the next phase. Hopefully, we can reach our goal this time too. Let’s see what happens. You’ll get another case study on it where the rest would be given.
