Refunds and the 90-day guarantee.
Authority work is bought on trust, and a guarantee that needs a lawyer to read is not worth having. This page says plainly what we replace, what we refund, what we do not, and how to raise it.
Last updated 17 September 2026The principle
We sell placements on publications we do not own. That means two things can go wrong that are genuinely ours to fix: a placement that does not meet the criteria we agreed before we started, and a link that stops working after it goes live. Both are covered below.
What we cannot guarantee is a ranking, a traffic number, or a position in an AI answer. Nobody controls those, and any supplier who guarantees them is either guessing or misleading you. We would rather say so here than in an email after the fact.
The 90-day guarantee
If a placement does not meet the Domain Rating or organic traffic criteria agreed for your campaign, tell us within 90 days of it going live and we will replace it at no charge, or refund the difference if you would rather not take a replacement.
The criteria are the ones set in your brief and confirmed on the shortlist you approved. That is what makes the guarantee checkable: you saw the site, the article and the target URL before anything went live, so both sides know what was agreed.
Links removed or de-indexed
If a link is removed by the publisher, or the page is de-indexed, we replace it at no charge inside the window for that service:
- Guest posts — replaced free for 12 months from the date the placement goes live.
- Link inserts — covered by the 90-day refund guarantee.
- All other placements — 90-day replacement from the date they go live.
Replacements are like for like: the same service, on a publication meeting the same agreed criteria. Outside these windows, individual replacement pricing applies.
What is not covered
So that nothing here is a surprise later:
- Rankings, traffic, conversions, revenue, or being named in an AI answer. These are outcomes, not deliverables, and no supplier controls them.
- A link removed because the target page was deleted, redirected or moved after placement.
- Changes you asked for after approving the site, article and anchor.
- Losses caused by a search engine policy change or a manual action affecting your site as a whole.
- Work already delivered and approved, where the objection is a change of strategy rather than a defect.
Cancelling, pausing and switching
Retainers are month to month. There are no setup fees and no contract term. You can cancel, pause or change tier at the start of any billing cycle. An upgrade taken mid-cycle is prorated.
Cancelling stops future billing. It does not undo work already delivered, and the current cycle is not refunded once placements for it have started — by that point publishers have been pitched and content commissioned on your behalf.
Every link placed while you were active stays live and stays yours, permanently. Placements are not rented and nothing is removed when you stop.
Annual prepayment carries two months free on the Starter and Growth tiers. If you cancel part-way through a prepaid year, the unused months are refunded at the monthly rate, with the discount already taken deducted from the refund.
Partners and resellers
Wholesale orders carry the same guarantees as direct ones. You are not absorbing the risk on your own margin because you bought at a reseller rate.
Claims come to us from you, not from your client. We do not contact your client at any point, and nothing in a replacement or refund identifies us to them.
Because partner work is bought per order rather than on a retainer, there is nothing to cancel. A quiet month costs you nothing.
How to raise a claim
Email [email protected] with the live URL and what is wrong with it. If you have an account manager, message them instead — it reaches the same place faster.
We aim to acknowledge within one business day and to resolve, or tell you honestly that we cannot, within ten. A replacement is sourced on the normal turnaround for that service. An approved refund is returned to the original payment method within 14 days.
If we get it wrong, say so and we will look again. We would rather lose an argument than a partner.
Changes to this policy
Dot Mirror Ltd may update this policy. The terms that apply to a placement are the ones published on the day it went live, so a change here never reduces cover on work already delivered.
This policy is part of our terms of service and should be read alongside them.
Still not clear?
Ask us and we will answer in plain terms. We would rather settle a question now than argue one later.
